I’m a hairdresser and I’ve little known hack for shampoo and conditioner

Aug 29, 2023

A HAIRDRESSER has shared a little known hack for shampoo and conditioner that is an absolute game-changer.

Taking to TikTok, Katrina, who can be found online at @katrinakellyhair, shared the hack she originally saw used on ketchup bottles.

The clever trick allows you to get the valuable product that becomes stuck at the top, bottom or along the sides of your shampoo and conditioner bottles within seconds.

Katrina said: “I’ve just seen somebody do something with ketchup, and I’m like, that would work for shampoo and condition because there’s nothing worse when you can’t get the end out of the tubes.

“We need not to waste product, don’t we? We have got to use it all. So I’m just going to show you.

“So instead of doing this (banging the end of the bottle on your hand), you can see clearly, I’m going to use the Cien bottle so you can actually see, there is clearly some product up there. What you’re going to do is do this.”

Katrina then begins swinging her arm around in a circular windmill motion.

She continued: “And look it, all the product comes down to the end.”

The hairdresser then tried the trick on a tube of conditioner.

She said: “So I’m going to try it with this now, so this is our conditioner. Right, so I’m trying to get it out.”

Katrina squeezed the bottle, but all that could be heard coming out was air.

Once again, she completed the hack, and to her amazement, even more product came out of the tube.

People raced to the comment section to say they would definitely be trying out the hack.

One person said: “Everything in the house is getting swung around.”

Another wrote: “My Estee Lauder is nearly gone and stuck at the end, so trying this.”

“Brilliant. Next time you see me walking into mams trailing my arms behind me, you will know why,” commented a third.

While a fourth said: “I always wondered how the first person discovers these things.”

Elsewhere, a hairdresser has revealed that you’ve been brushing your locks all wrong.

So if you want long, super healthy hair, you’ll need to listen up.

Posting on social media, hairdresser Rachel Valentine explained ‘how to brush your hair correctly.’

Sharing her expert advice, she said: “I'm gonna show you how I detangle hair once it's been washed.

“So if you apply some product first - this can be your heat protector or your leave-in conditioner. This is gonna really help you remove the knots and it won't be as painful.

“The brush you use is so important. I like Tangle Teezer, you can use a Wet Brush if you want but definitely don't use your average combs or paddle brushes.

“They are not for detangling. They are for styling only.”

Rachel then advised that to brush hair wet, you must start from the bottom.

She advised: “You’re going to start teasing at the bottom and you can see that it's coming out quite easily.

“If you start at the top, the brush is gonna get stuck, even if it is a really good one, and it's gonna pull on your scalp and that's not gonna be good.

“I'm starting from the bottom and I'm gonna slowly just work my way up and you can see how easy that is, and my hair as you can see is super knotty.

“If your hair is super fragile, you might wanna wait until it's dried a little bit because when your hair is wet it's gonna stretch and it may cause breakage.

“My hair is quite strong, so I can go in and detangle it now while it's wet.”
